These child labourers are deprived of every happiness of their childhood. 7.4 million children are working in deadly factories to fight against poverty. This is the only option they have to survive. To change this means an over-whelming challenge that most do not even attempt. But still, First Light Institute of Photography is trying hard step-by-step to make changes. Our aim is to give some basic education and inspiration in life to at least a few child labourers. Some factory owners are cooperating; some are not. But we keep our faith alive and persevere. The ice cream party is a half an hour break for them from the reality of their long day of grueling work.

At the coolest ‘Ice cream party’ on the hottest-mid-day of the month during Boishakh (Bengali New Year) that our school First Light hosted for the factory working children.
Ice cream is every child’s weakness. This is one small thing that can bring an instant smile to a child’s face. Thanks to all the factory owners who allowed their child labourers a half an hour breaks to attend the party ‘Ice-cream-fever’. We also want to thank the local people for the enthusiasm that they showed after watching our extraordinary activity.
Let’s whisper the mantra again:
Never get tired of doing little things for others.
Sometimes, those little things occupy the biggest part of their hearts.
